Anyone looking for something to do tonight need not look any further than the Bishop Allen and Page France (as heard on MMT #2 with Hat and Rabbit) show at Hi-Dive tonight. I’ve heard great things about both bands live and it would be a premier chance to hear a lot of the tracks from their new albums. The Bishop Allen song is from their new LP, The Broken String. The Little Penguins are a band out of Seattle that has just self-released a new album and Voyager One is another band out of the Pacific Northwest that just released their new EP, Bed of Sound.
Austin’s Okkervil River (who are playing 9/13 in Denver) released their album, The Stag Names, today, so I found it fitting to throw one of those songs in there, as well as Jon Weiburg and Will Sheff’s side project, Shearwater. Here’s a videojam of them at SXSW.
I know exactly what you’re thinking at this point: this mix in no way, shape or form has any relevance to ninjas…it’s bullshit! Yeah, it is. But The Rosebuds are a delight for the ears. And here’s a ninja video for you that’s pretty rad, although I’d give this guy a tatanka sweep kick that would render him near-paralyzed.

I'd beat the crap out of a ninja that tried to take me on to that dumb Mars TV song (although if the ninja won it would be double demeaning).
