Two clutch new jams for you today…
First up, a remix of one of my favorite songs of the year to date. Chris Devlin of Spank Rock has put his touch on Panda Bear’s brilliant Comfy in Nautica. The new interpretation is part of Devlin’s set for Discobelle and it’s really really good. If am ever at a bar or club that puts this on (unlikely since I never go to clubs) I will seriously flip out (via Gorilla vs. Bear).
Next, I have to get in my weekly shout out to Vampire Weekend with a crazy “first shot” at Walcott from the KEXP Blog. While this might sound like a remix of the song that made the EP and “Blue CD-R”, it is actually an older attempt at finding a sound by the band, well before they moved into the African styled drums and guitar that they have settled into now. I love it.
