Drumroll please ladies and gentlemen, bosnians and fallujians alike, the moment we’ve ALL been waiting for, the first post of GB’s career! Today we discuss Red Rocks Amphitheatre. My first trip to Red Rocks was in the summer of 2006, the summer of love, the summer of excellence. On that trip to Morrison, Colorado, a mere 20 miles west of Denver, I caught an amazing show by Oklahoma’s Flaming Lips (that’s for you, Jon). I know they put on a similar, trippy show all over the country, but I would pay $60 to see Wayne Coyne get inside a plastic ball and walk on the crowd any day of the week. Except Mondays. I won’t even mention (ok, I will) the elves and mini-santas jumping around flailing flashlights, countless creepos in capes, and, most importantly, the off-the-wall trades we made for pulls of our Jack Daniels. In any case, my first experience was memorable.
Today I’d like to discuss the 2007 lineup for Red Rocks shows. Why? Because it’s neat. The important ^ 3 (yes, that’s important x important x important. You math gurus can FOIL it out to find a secret message. Not really though) shows are listed right here:
6/2 Big Head Todd and the Monsters
6/27 Goo Goo Dolls
7/14 O.A.R.
7/18 Incubus
7/31 Daft Punk
8/15 311
8/17 G-Love w/ Slightly Stupid
9/4 The Killers (note new date)
9/7 AND 9/8 STS9
