From time to time I will feature posts by special “guest” contributors who either are familiar with specific genres of music or can provide concert reviews and shots from different parts of the country. Here is the first post from someone who is bound to be one of the most important guest bloggers of our little project here, Jerry Blackbird.
Pigeon Invasion?
While the name, The Pigeon Detectives , should have seriously been rethought months ago, its too late to turn back now. ‘Cause these chaps from Leeds have taken over the UK and have their squinty little pigeon eyes set on the Stars and Stripes. US labels need to wake up and smell the tea and crumpets…..this one is a gold mine. And you’re lucky because…like Geico, this one’s so good, a ‘caveman could do it’....wait…no, its so good a pack of retarded monkeys could pick 3 singles from this album and service it to radio adequately. Its too bad it probably wont hit US radio until Oct/Nov…
‘Wait For Me’ debuted at #3 on the UK album charts last week. I expect it to be up there for a while as festival season in Europe is gearing up and they are on….well, all of them. A heads up for our industry friends: The Pigeons bring their electric live show to the “In the City Music Conference” at Nokia on this Wednesday. Go get your crowd surf on boys….
Our good amigos at kexp.org are already playing “I Found Out”....so here is another taste of Pigeon goodness for you guys.
More awesomeness after the jump….Blackbird out.
