Albert Hammond Jr., better known as one of two guitarists for The Strokes (aka Number One Super Band of All Time), has recently branched out into his own solo act, and this weekend he’ll grace Austin’s presence with a live show at the Parish.
I’ve given AHJ’s tunes a listen a number of times now via his myspace page and have had a hard time getting into his tunes. Obviously, they’re not the same without Nick Valensi’s support and Julian Casablancas’ crooning vocals, but I guess I’ve always been hoping for a little more Strokes and a little less independence. Time for me to give the man his due, pay him back for the years of enjoyment I’ve gotten from his other work, and check out his show on Sunday. I’ll be there. Will you?
